Write for us

Southern Discovery Hub welcomes considered pitches about how landscapes, maps, names, routes and built traces help readers understand a place. Send proposals through the Contact page.

What makes a strong pitch

A good pitch starts with one clear question and a distinct clue or idea. Explain what a reader will understand or notice afterward, why the subject suits this publication, and what sources or observations could support the piece. We welcome accessible explanations, comparisons and concise histories that do not depend on invented detail or unsupported certainty.

Shape and voice

Write for a curious general reader. Keep the focus narrow enough to handle responsibly, distinguish what is visible from what is inferred, and make uncertainty useful rather than hiding it. We are interested in original work, not promotional copy, recycled material or a list of destinations.

How to send a proposal

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short summary, the proposed category and a few sentences about your approach. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; do not send confidential material.

Our point of view

A place is a puzzle you can walk through

We look for clues, try out interpretations and leave room for the landscape to surprise us. A neat explanation is satisfying, but not every trace tells a complete story.
