Editorial policy

Southern Discovery Hub aims to make place-reading curious, clear and careful. We distinguish observation from interpretation and revise the record when a meaningful error is found.

Accuracy and context

We check names, descriptions and claims against suitable sources when preparing material, and we avoid presenting a plausible reading as a settled fact. When a subject is uncertain or varies by place, the text should say so. Readers can use the Contact page to point out an error or missing context; corrections are reviewed and, when warranted, reflected in the relevant text.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial choices are made for relevance to the publication's subject, not to secure a partnership. Any sponsored or partner material is labelled clearly where it appears, and commercial arrangements do not guarantee favourable editorial treatment. We do not imply that a placement is an independent recommendation.

Images and illustrations

Images are chosen to support the subject and should not be mistaken for evidence when they are illustrative. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where that is the case, they are identified as illustrations rather than documentary photographs.

Our point of view

A place is a puzzle you can walk through

We look for clues, try out interpretations and leave room for the landscape to surprise us. A neat explanation is satisfying, but not every trace tells a complete story.
